Contouring with Food?

When we usually talk about contouring here at OROGOLD, it is usually in the context of using makeup to define your features. However, experts are now claiming that there is a new way to contour your face that involves no makeup whatsoever, and this is by simply eating certain foods.

Cheekbone Definition with Spinach
Spinach is packed with nutrients, and these help the skin to retain water and strengthen the tissues, all helping to slow down the aging process. In recent years, spinach has become quite a popular ‘superfood’, and many experts claim that this is the green to eat if you want to give your cheekbones some extra definition.

Plumper Lips with Red Pepper
Red pepper seeds contain capsicum, and, when you gently run these along your lips, they will improve your circulation, resulting in plumper looking lips. If you find that this works for you, OROGOLD recommends adding a drop of capsicum oil to your lip balm, to make it more convenient to enjoy the benefits.

Smoother Neck with Broccoli
Broccoli is a fantastic vegetable to add to your diet on a regular basis as it not only helps to protect your skin from the aging effects of the sun, but it is also extremely high in vitamins B, C and E. This helps to slow down the aging process, minimizing the appearance of those dreaded neck wrinkles. However, while broccoli may play a part in minimizing sun damage, OROGOLD reminds you that it is in no way an alternative to using sunscreen.

Radiant Cheeks with Oysters
Oysters are full of zinc, and, when this is absorbed by the body along with vitamin C, it helps your body to produce more elastin, which is what your skin needs to stay firm and radiant. For cheeks that are firm and radiant, indulging in some oysters could be the way to go!

Smooth Skin with Tangerines
Tangerines are a fruit absolutely packed with vitamins A and C, which are both excellent for fighting acne, as well as for speeding up the rate of cell renewal in your skin. The anti-aging properties of vitamin A mean that fine lines will be reduced, while the vitamin C ensures that your collagen production levels are kept at a steady high.

Glowing Skin with Avocados
Avocados have become extremely popular in recent years, as the benefits that they bring to the skin and body have become widely known. Unlike other fruits, avocados contain Omega-9 fats, which are healthy fats that reduce redness and irritation, while repairing the damage caused to the skin. Extremely high in antioxidants and vitamin E, avocados protect the skin from aging, while protecting against sun damage.

Although there may not be any concrete evidence that these foods can help with contouring, there is no doubt that each and ever one of these ingredients brings a whole range of benefits to the body. While you may not notice any instant contouring effects, OROGOLD does recommend that you make the effort to add some of these foods into your diet on a regular basis, as they have all been proven to be beneficial to overall health.
