OROGOLD Reports: Key to Youth Found? OROGOLD Reviews
OROGOLD Cosmetics recently came across some new research which suggests that a particular activity might actually help you in slowing the aging process. This study was conducted by researchers from the University of Colorado and the Humboldt State University published in the Plus One Journal. They tested two groups of adults (over the age of 65) who were sincere joggers or walkers and tried to examine how difficult it was for them to walk on a treadmill at three different speeds. The activity that has now been termed as the key to youth is running.
According to the results of this study, adults who were sincere with jogging enjoyed an increased walking economy of 7% to 10% when compared to other walkers. What made the results even more interesting is that these adults had a metabolic cost that was similar to people in their twenties. The walking economy achieved by the participants was then compared between the two groups and also compared to the economies of young and old adults who did not undertake any aerobic training.
Justus Ortega, a professor at the Humboldt State University, says that the study discovered that adults who undertook regular aerobic activities such as running enjoyed a lower metabolic cost of walking when compared to other sedentary adults. The metabolic cost simply refers to the amount of energy that the body needs to move. The required amount increases as the body ages and it is also known to be one of the main predictors of morbidity in seniors. Although the researchers couldn’t determine how jogging helped in allowing a better walking economy, they believe that jogging certainly seems to keep people younger and slows down aging.
Rodger Kram, a professor at the University of Colorado, mentions that the bottom line of the study is that running should help a person to stay younger, at least in terms of efficiency. However, some experts have also said that this study might have overemphasized on its findings and overstated the conclusion. They believe that in order to determine the age-related walking economy effects on older people, studies need to take a group of middle-aged people into account to see who runs and who doesn’t. Therefore, these findings should be taken as conditional evidence that running can certainly improve one’s ability as the body ages, but every person should continue walking for exercise as well. Moreover, walking has already proven to help people with osteoarthritis and lower back pain.
Whether or not running is the key to youth, regular exercise certainly is! ORO GOLD has always stressed on the importance of exercise for anyone wanting to enjoy healthy and younger looking skin.
